Comments: YUCK! Huge wave, feet and arms in my face all the time. The group never thinned out enough for me to have my own space. I was fighting the crowd the whole way. I was debating just slowing down so everyone would pass me, but I just fought more. It was very aggravating. Breathed almost every stroke just to get through the crowd. What would you do differently?: Hmm...not do the tri for fun??? Transition 1
Comments: We weren't allowed to run with our bikes! I even tried. Oh well. Bike
Comments: I didn't know how much I should push on the bike to save up for the run, but it was ok. I was going slower than I wanted on the way out, but tail winds on the way back helped me get my average up. It was good. Got up to 27mph on part of it. Transition 2
Comments: I don't really remember too much of this one. It was pretty fast I think... Run
Comments: The run went well. Better than I though considering I took 3.5 weeks off to let the shins rest. No shin pain. Calves threatened to cramp, then I took a gu..and better again. Guess that's working. I didn't need to stop and stretch this time so I think that helped my time some. I'm really happy with this run without any training. What would you do differently?: Train :) Post race
Warm down: Stretch calves, watch and cheer for Donna! Event comments: Bike and run routes were not posted online. This would have helped with training. Wave times also not posted ahead of time. It is a casual event, so I didn't expect too much but those extras would have been nice. Last updated: 2006-07-15 12:00 AM

Set up transition with Donna, figure out where to go.
Run on beach and grass, swim a bit. Running barefoot not a good idea, but not enough time to get shoes and really warm up.
