My two new favorite letters in the alphabet. w00t! I did it!

I did a 3:33:49 and needed a sub-3:40, so I'm hoping this is enough to not just SAY it, but actually get INTO the race...we'll see. So yeah, I admit I wanted to brag, because, geez, I BQ'd! But also I wanted to say thanks.

Thank you, BT, for your cheerleading, your HTFU'ing, your wonderful logs which allow me to obsessively monitor every.single. workout & goal, (and secretly stalk folks who are way faster than me to crib their workouts and for motivation, yes, I totally do this), your hilarious and sometimes irrelevant discussions about seat height and whether you should wear underwear with bike shorts or say hi if you're a girl out for a run, which helped distract and entertain me during taper and injury, for the vast range of advice I get when I post a question to help hone my training, and just your general awesomeness.

I honestly feel I could not have done this without you. So, thanks, BT. You rock my world.

Also, special shout out to BernardDogs and BrianRunsPhilly for alternating between telling me to work really freakin' hard and telling me to just chill the f out.

And also Asalzwed, because she's so darn fast and the sum of her advice to me was to just run my race.

Which I did.

I will now spend the next four months worrying and crunching non-existent numbers on whether I actually get into Boston 2014. Stay tuned.

That is all.

Please carry on being awesome. Because you are.

major Congrats.

you are IN.  you're well under the BQ limit and last year everyone who qualified got in.  two years ago, when the times were 5 min slower, you just needed to qual by BQ-1:45ish.

the only decision you need to make between now and next april is if you're going to go there and rock it with everything you've got and PR, or just take an enjoyable victory lap.

And here BT continues to be awesome, as your post is inspirational.  Laughing

How 'bout that, Karma?!?!

Awesome job and terrific post - I can feel the joy...

Congrats!

Matt (& Kim, who is dangerously close to pulling us both into the BQ vortex next run season!).

That's great!!!

It's an incredible experience!  Just run Boston for fun.  You've already made it to the biggest marathon in the world, you don't need to prove anything on that day other than living in the moment.

Boom!

As I already told you, a 6 minute cushion is going to be good. Outstanding job in nasty conditions. It was great to briefly meet you at the start line ... I was already in my zone as pacer, so I didn't get the chance to offer the final "relax" mantra I had hoped to offer in person.

Excellent work!

Fantastic news! Congrats! I needed to read this since I am training to try to BQ in late August and doubting myself. Still don't know if I still have it in me, but your post encouraged me to keep at it and see what happens.

Thanks for all the congratulations! I'm pretty excited about my time, though I am worried about getting into the actual race (seriously hope 6 minutes will be enough...).

I was a bit nervous at the start, all good energy, but it definitely had an edge to it. I wanted to hug you, BDogs, when I saw you but glad I didn't. I must have come across as mildly psychotic, with my ratty hoodie and old NYC marathon mylar blanket and bubbling over with energy -- I have no idea what I said to you, was it even English? lol. Sorry if I frightened you.

I honestly wasn't sure if I had this time in me either and even at mile 20 I was having some silly argument in my head about whether or not I could do it. I had a couple hurdles to overcome in that race. But like I said, I had some really great coaching, advice and cheerleading to get me there.

Good luck to everyone who's in BQ training now! Sending all good BQ karma waves your way.
