We all have power!

Maybe I can use some of that power to create a bigger, badder Taser.

Hm.....

I knocked out a 56 mile ride this morning to help my cause, plus some running. I might fall short but if I do it won't be but by around 5%

Plugging away at my goals. The should all be met, but the swim is going to be the hardest.

My goal was to be at 100% by the time of my vaca. Not quite there but I'll get some running in and quality time with hubby. I'll even take my yoga mat to hit some more planks and crunches.....maybe.

Enjoy the vacation Pam !!!

Hey everyone last weekend ahead - and if you are in the TdF challenge - this weekend will be a great time to "Double Dip" on the challenges.
I know I won't hit my run goal - but if I can get to the bike shop and get some tubes I am looking to get about 5 hours in over the weekend.

I don't think I'll meet my target but I won't be too far off. If I double up on planks that should help, plus an extra ride on Sunday...

Well...that's it for me. Fell short of my goals but overall I feel happy about where I'm at. I can feel my aerobic fitness is improving and my run speed is starting to pick up a little.  Now to face July...

Just returned from vaca in NOLA. Awesome time and it definitely helped me on the running goal.

Hubby and I found this awesome deli and this killer sandwich. On our third trip there, we talked to the deli man and I just thought his story (the little bit we got to hear before we got interrupted again for customers) was so cool I wanted to share here. The man moved to NOLA and weighed 250 pounds at that time (I would say he was about 5'6"). He lives one mile from the deli in the French Quarter so he walks to and from work each day plus another couple of miles a day. He lost 50 pounds in 4 months! Isn't that amazing? I could tell that he also made other changes in his life because even tho he made that sandwich for us 3 times, he has only allowed himself to have that same sandwich 3 times since he has lived in New Orleans because he limits himself to only special occasions. It just really impressed me to see someone change their life so completely that he can resist things on a daily basis for his health.

Boy, anyone in the French Quarter will rack up the miles in a hurry. I wore my Garmin most of the time and we walked 5 - 8 miles daily. I only counted my run miles for the challenge but was really surprised to see how far we went daily.

It is indeed great to see someone change their life for the better. Being a tourist can surely rack up the miles, especially if you are curious. There is so much to see in NOLA. I LOVE that town.

Although I did not reach my goal, I did increase my fitness! I am bummed to have fallen short, but am certainly inspired to push more.

Thank you for the challenge!

I finished just over 80% with a lot of speed bumps and pot holes along the way. It's not all bad though, as I still past my bike and run totals for last month, and was just under my swim total.

The boat was being tossed around. Someone noted that there were whitecaps on the waves. Another guy said, “This is going to be challenging.” I began to wonder what he meant by 'challenging'.

It’s a challenge to push yourself a little harder and a little further. Be proud of every workout that is accomplished and every step-even the baby ones-that you take on this course to the finishline.

The Boulder Peak bike course is legendary. It is, literally and named as such, one of the toughest bike legs in the country.
