Anyone know of a fall-ish half iron in the Southeast besides Augusta?

Looking for a new race to fill in the later part of the year.

Thanks

If you aren't trying to stick to WTC events there is also Beach2Battleship.

goosepond island half iron. low key, good people, good course and cold beer. it was an easy drive over from marietta last year. looks like 13 october this year.

i've got three little ones and they had a blast last year, if that means anything for your planning.

there's a semi supported 140.6 on the course in late september. not sure if you could do part of that, might make for a great training day and set up nicely in the training schedule.

good luck and have fun.

Doug and I did the Amelia race several years ago. It was lovely. It is simultaneous with the Ameliaman Oly race and the venue was really nice. It is a low-key event at the beach, what more could you ask for? That said, there was a TON of drafting on the bike and everyone would benefit from reviewing the run course map ahead of time, but I definitely recommend the race.

Look at everyone pulling races out of the wood works. That's right, I am taking notes. I have never heard of a few of these. Thanks!

It was very well supported.  The race director (DRC) is very similar to Ga Multisport here.  It doesn't have the vibe or number of participants as IM or Rev3.  It's more like a large local race.

Being at the beach made it a lot more fun.  Post race was a cold beer while sitting in the surf.

My wife mentioned "knowing the run course", and that was because I skipped an out and back on the run.  It was all my fault, so don't hold that against the RD.

No, I mentioned it because the run course was confusing and it would have been easy for anyone to mix up. I just had the advantage of knowing it because of porto-potty scouting pre-race.

Hi,

Anyone know anything about Atomic Man in TN. Same weekend as Augusta Half IM.
Bummed now that I missed Augusta Half.

Thanks, Kate

I went ahead and signed up for the Amelia Island 70.3 and even better, I was able to get suites at the Comfort Inn 200 feet from the transition area.

Now I am officially off the couch and back in training.

I just had a couple of problems, I could count the number of triathlons I had contested at zero. Secondly, I could count on one hand the number of times I had been swimming in the last 17 years.

This is not an easy task, especially for the “9-to-5er” with family. But you can do it – all without sacrificing your marriage, job or family.

Fall's also the time to shop! In fact, now's the best time to retool some of your triathlon equipment for next year, right before the Christmas season begins to jack prices upward.
