I've been swimming at the lap pool at LA Fitness in Ahwatukee. Three lanes and plenty of waiting. Lately the chlorine level there has been high enough to make me hack up a lung after only 20 minutes of swimming. Does anybody out there have any experience with Lifetime Fitness' pools? Do they do a better job of keeping the chemicals balanced?

I swim there and love it! 5 lanes inside and 5 outside. Never had a problem with the chems in the pool and I have pretty bad allergies. It's a great gym for triathletes!

I joined up this evening. Seeing all those swim lanes, outside too, sealed the deal.

Swam at Lifetime tonight. Used the outside pool, don't you know. Very nice.

The outside lanes are one of the main reasons we're members at Lifetime! I'm about halfway between the Tempe and Goodyear locations, but I make the drive because the gym is so much better than the LA Fitness near me. glad you made the choice to change...Lifetime is awessome!

I went into the pool area (as this was a pool swim) and got body marked. That's when it hit me that I was there to race - this was not a clinic.

A powerful attraction of the calories in/calories out paradigm is its apparent simplicity. Unfortunately, the human body isn’t so simple and that is why this seemingly wonderful formula doesn't work.

As a triathlete, there is one acronym that you just can’t fathom ever having next to your name in a race report – DNF: DID NOT FINISH.

Once you caught your breath, it occurred to you that finishing even a short triathlon might be harder than you thought. After a few "laps" you thought, "I can't believe I'm so out of shape."

Don't worry, you can't do anything that hasn't been done before. Read this article for some humorous insights of one triathlete's introduction to the sport.

Good swimming is relaxed swimming. Relaxed swimming depends on practicing the best techniques and the best body position.

Mental toughness is skill. You need to learn how to suffer. You practice perseverance everyday when you are out training in the bad weather, when you ride or run further than you have ever gone.

My dog is an intelligent runner. She does a big stretch before she does anything. She starts out slowly and gradually builds up speed until we are running very fast.
