Total Time = 1h 03m 29s
Overall Rank = 5/279
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 1/8
Pre-race routine:

Ate a banana at 6:00 just to have something in my stomach.
Event warmup:

Jumped on the bike and rode for probably 2 miles just to wake up the legs a little bit.
Swim
  • 08m 44s
  • 500 yards
  • 01m 45s / 100 yards
Comments:

Not pleased with this swim. Slower time than last year by 30 seconds and I'm such a better swimmer. Not sure if the course was long or what....

Felt like my kicking was better than it was at Quassy and I tried to continue that during the entire 500. Still need to work on my kicking form though. Not sure how much it's actually helping me.

What would you do differently?:

Didn't hear the countdown from 10 from the MC so I never started my watch.
Transition 1
  • 00m 58s
Comments:

This was a battle. The wetsuit got stuck on my right heel and I couldn't get it off. Was seriously fighting it which caused me to not put my helmet on while I was trying to take it off.

Should have been much faster than this. Not sure if it was a body glide issue or what.
What would you do differently?:

Use more body glide.
Bike
  • 32m 56s
  • 12 miles
  • 22.13 mile/hr
Comments:

For some reason this was pretty rough. Felt like I had a good clip going for the ride but was feeling pretty tired around mile 8 or so.

Buckled down and just kept going after it.

I decided based off of last years blunder with the shoe that i'd just run with them on instead of having them clipped in. Not sure if it cost me or saved me any time.
Transition 2
  • 00m 29s
Comments:

Small issue getting the bike on the rack as the case is with a bike that's taller than the rack itself.

Other than that...went good.
Run
  • 20m 25s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 06m 32s  min/mile
Comments:

Wanted to have a little bit faster pace but didn't think I was going to hold it. Still set a PR for a 5k...during a tri. So I'll take it. :)
Post race
Event comments:

They had some issues with timing this year but looks like they got it all squared away. I enjoy the race and it's a no frills one at that.
