Comments:

Surprisingly swam not bad, goggles fogged and first time I passed people
What would you do differently?:

Anti fog for goggles and keep getting swim mileage in
Transition 1
  • 01m 32s
Comments:

Felt good, ran hard from the lake to T1, was a long run, but still have time to improve on it
What would you do differently?:

Keep working on my T1
Bike
  • 36m 35s
  • 13.1 miles

Comments:

Not too bad of a ride, lots of riders riding centerline, didn't hold me up much, felt good, could have used a bit more fluid on the ride, was warm out there
What would you do differently?:

Take more water for drinking and cooling
Transition 2
  • 00m 59s
Comments:

Off the bike on the run and to the rack very quick.
What would you do differently?:

Not much, work on getting socks and shoes on a bit faster
Run
  • 22m 9s
  • 3.23 miles
  • 06m 55s  min/mile
Comments:

Was a hot and hilly run, but still passed everyone who was moving out there, legs were a little off off the bike
What would you do differently?:

Work on my brick workouts and get a few more of them in the next few weeks
Post race
Warm down:

Jumped into the lake and cooled off and waited for the awards

What limited your ability to perform faster:

More swim practice and keep the mileage up on biking and running

Event comments:

First Ultramax race, well run, but not too bad at all

Over the past couple of months I've been waking up with a sore heel. Right in the center, it feels like I stepped on a pebble and bruised it. The pain, fairly minor, goes away as the day progresses.

I’ve signed up to do the St. Anthony’s Olympic Triathlon in April. I will be 49 in May and need some advice on a good training program to fit into my full time work schedule.
