Pre-race routine:

Bland diet for 2 days before, chicken adn rice. Vegetables as filler, I did cheat and ate a few chips for salt. Enduralites 1 the morning before and 1 the night before. Hydrated with gatorade.
Event warmup:

Short swim in the crop to get ready.

Bigger waves than I have swam in before, very uneasy at the start.
What would you do differently?:

Continue swimming more and more yards

Not my best effort in a half, the goal was to run everything and I did. Next yr I will continue the long runs into bike season.
What would you do differently?:

Continue long runs into outdoor biking season. Mix more bike into the fall season and winter on the trainer as to keep up the run volume int the spring.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Mental focus on meeting times and not just letting go.

I just had a couple of problems, I could count the number of triathlons I had contested at zero. Secondly, I could count on one hand the number of times I had been swimming in the last 17 years.
