Pre-race routine:

Taco, chips, and ice cream the night before. Not a good pre-race meal.
Event warmup:

Zero, nada, none. First mile was the warmup.
Run
  • 1h 59m 52s
  • 15.5 miles
  • 07m 44s  min/mile
Comments:

I did not eat well the day and night before this run. Lots of crap including overeating on Tacos, chips and homemade icecream the night before. As a result my stomach was messed up for most of the run. Had to make a bushes break during miles 7 and 12, lost around 4 minutes. After the mile 12 break the last 3.5 miles went great. Passed 8 people in the last 3 miles including one guy in my AG. Wanted to finish under 2 hours and made it by 8 seconds,
What would you do differently?:

Eat better the day and night before.
Post race
Warm down:

Skipped award (should have stayed since I was 3rd in AG). Picked up family at home and went to the water park for the day.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Me.

Excellent run T.  For a big guy, you can really pick 'em up and put 'em down!

T-

Great job.  Wish I could have been there.  I actually came home from the hospital at 2 am, slept for two hours and got up to go there, but I was beat.  Going to do it for sure next year.  Are you going to do the long bridge swim in Sandpoint on Aug 5??
