Pre-race routine:

Drove 1.5 hours to site. Go to bathroom. Set up transition, get body marked, walk to boat loading. Hope stomach doesn't keep hurting (I ate too much the day before, this was a last minute race so I did not do well on nutrition.)
Event warmup:

Stand up at boat. Do some arm rotations. Splash sink water on face and neck. Prepare to dive...

Comments:

The jump was pretty nice, actually. I was glad I did not wear a wetsuit since it would have been too hot. It was not a good swim pace wise. I need to get better and gain some speed.

Finished strong, did some successful jumps at the end to finish. Rocky bit to step on, at the end, though.
What would you do differently?:

Swim faster, straighter, concentrate to keep form.
Transition 2
  • 02m 27s
Comments:

Glad I ditched the wetsuit. Saved me much time and grief. I should not have bothered to put more sunblock on my face since it stayed overcast.
Run
  • 1h 16m 38s
  • 6.2 miles
  • 12m 18s  min/mile
Comments:

I speed walked due to foot still being in recovery. Enough said.

Post race
Warm down:

Eat two burritos. Drink soda.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Can't run.

Event comments:

A fun, small race, that I hope will grow in size, but if it doesn't, it's still a fun, charming race :3
