Steve,
I thought the roads were HORRIBLE, very rough. On the first section of River Road, I tried to stay to the right of the white line as it was much smoother, then most of the rest was just bad. Had to constantly try to find smoother sections, and to avoid the worst of it. Heading towards Chalk Hill, which I did not think was to bad of a climb, there were a couple of bridges with really big lips at the expansion joints. The amount of bottles littering the course was crazy! A short distance after Chalk Hill, you make a right turn and start heading back towards the north side of Windsor, it finally became tolerable. I usually enjoy the bike portion of a Tri the most, but hated this one. On the otherhand, maybe I am just being a big baby about the roads :-)

All of that said, the volunteers were awesome, and corners marked well along with Police at intersections.

Pain shows us how strong we are. After last weekend I am convinced of this. After 151 training hours of swimming, biking, and running, I flew to Sonoma County, California for the race.
