You could always go watch-less Smile

The only time I ever use one is when doing a really specific track workout, when there are multiple groups doing something different (so my coach can't call splits) and when I don't have a group to run with. Even then sometimes I forget.

It's done wonders for my ability to "feel" a pace and get extremely in tune with my body.

That's what I do. I run by feel and I can say that it makes the day more enjoyable. Plus I tend to push myself a bit more if I'm going watchless. Well, usually, sometimes I just dont care enough to push myself.

I use a cheap Timex Ironman for the swim, my Cateye on the bike then a Garmin 305 for the run. If it is a race I keep the cheap Timex on the entire race as it has my overall time. But I don't need to download an look at my data.

The doctor says not to run again. Ever. Needless to say, I’m not taking this very well. Can I recover from this? Where should I go from here?

I usually have at least one workout per day, sometimes two or three, but I spend about all in-between time eating. I am not gaining weight, but I am not losing weight either. Should I be concerned?

My thanks to the triathlete community for being there when I need you. That’s the beautiful thing about triathletes. None of us are all right, and no one expects anyone else to be.

As a triathlete, there is one acronym that you just can’t fathom ever having next to your name in a race report – DNF: DID NOT FINISH.
