I took 4 showers yesterday if you include the pre-pool rinse off. One before work, one after running and one after swimming. This happens 3-4 days a week. Bike days are usually only 2 showers, 2-3 days a week. What's typical for you? I'll leave this open so someone can add "BEETZ or I never bathe", if needed.

Just another reason triathletes are awesome...we're cleaner than regular folk.

I'm with you, lots of showers.
The best part of hot summer days is starting luke-warm, and proceeding to cold for a good minute before finishing.
Good stuff.

During the season, generally two - after each workout.

Lunch workout then shower.  After work training, then shower.  I didn't see the need to shower in the morning if showered the night before plus I only need to get to lunch before the workouts started again.  I don't count pre-swim rinses as showers.

Most days just one shower after my morning workout, but I generally go commando on Saturdays if I don't work out.  So technically my average would be less than 1, but barely.  ;-)

Also dismayed at the lack of fractional options.

Right now I'm a 2/3 er with an occasional 4/day.  It depends on both my work, training and farming schedule.  My skin hates it.

I voted 1. And swimming counts as a shower.

Generally I'm a 2-a-dayer.  I usually workout in the AM before work, so only one there after the workout.  Then I'll take another quick one after the PM workout.

Usually two a day for me, with the occasional three.  I hate having to shower so much, but I hate feeling stinky/sweaty even more.  The worst part though is that I almost never fix my hair anymore since it's too much trouble to mess with that often, so I have a perpetual ponytail.

It was actually weird one morning when I showered without working out first.  I think that's only happened once all year?

I would say 1.75 on average.
I too am a night time shower-er and only FULL-shower-including-wash-my-hair before work maybe 1 day a week. Lots of days before work though, I do a 60-second body shower without getting my hair wet. For us ladies I'm not sure what that equates to - half a shower?

I shower after I swim. Unless I pee in my wetsuit.

So the pee counts as a shower?

Agree, although sometimes I'll do a rinse off with no soap after a mid day ride.

I thought you all took a full shower before you swim.....I don't see a single pre-swim shower listed.

Oh.....the horror!!!

Meh, looks like I screwed up the poll and closed it instead of leaving it open for additions. Looks like I denied some BT'ers a few "golden" opportunities. Sooooorry.

I do the same thing, although my full shower is in the morning and my half shower is at night after my workout.  I counted that as 2.

I have long hair by guy standards, but I must create alot more oil because I can't get away with not washing my hair daily otherwise I look like a greaseball. But my hair is short enough that I get wicked bed head which requires a shower to tame. So I am at least 2 if not 3 a day.

Guess I'm strange.  Yesterday, zero.  I swam in the morning, that was my bath.  Today, I'm going for a ride.  Afterwards I will probably just spray myself down with the hose to rinse the sweat and then jump in the pool to "cool down" in the 90 degree water.  And I'll probably be in the pool another 2-3 times throughout the day.  I've got my own salt water pool, though.  I would shower off after being in a public pool.

Same. Although, in the summer, I try to do my garden chores right after my morning workout. So my shower kills two birds with .. one.. um.. shower head?

Hmmm.  1-2 depending on when I workout...I am a night-time shower-er also.  So if I workout in the AM, then after workout and before bed.  If I workout in the evening, then just after workout.

I hate showering more than once a day for many, many reasons:

--I'm anal about the water bill.

--I reuse my towel for 4-5 showers.  When you shower once per day this means you're still getting a dry towel; more than once a day, not so much.

--It's a pain in the butt and takes too much time.

On weekdays, it's one shower before work, train after week and just wash the face before bed.  Unless I swam, in which case I do another quick shower with just the hair/body chlorine removal soap.  And that's at the gym so I'm using their water and towel for which I pay nothing since I work for them and have no dues. Smile

On weekends I train first, then shower.  Just the one shower.

So my vote is for 1, though it might be 2 twice a week, and only during swim season.  I just like to keep it all as simple as humanly possible.

I feel gross reading this thread...

Thursday is my rest day.  I'll shower at night before bed.

Friday evening I'll swim.  Then go home/eat/annoy wife/run kid through piano practice/play guitar untill 11 PM and at that point I'm too tired to bother showering, so I typically just go to sleep.  What's the point, since Saturday morning I'm getting up to go run anyway...  So out of sheer laziness I may skip a Friday shower (post-swim).  Then I'll shower after running Saturday, unless I cut grass, then after that.

Usually though one a day, at night.
