Comments:

Was good at pacing for first 3 miles then felt really good and sped up for next 2 miles. My pace suffered at hills. I hit something on my Garmin at about mile 4 so I could no longer use it to pace myself. I think that hurt me a bit at end b/c I could not look at time and maybe I would have pushed it a bit more at end??
What would you do differently?:

Not hit wrong button on Garmin!! Overall had good pacing strategy and only walked one water station this year, which is improvement for me!
Post race
Warm down:

drank water and walked around with family

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Weight, not enough training, sun and heat on course... plenty of excuses and can always do better!

Event comments:

LOVE this race!! This is the 3rd year I have run the 10K and it is a great race - well organized, plenty of volunteer support and great race to bring kids to! They have bouncy houses, a live band, hey rides, face painting and more!

I can train for half marathons on pavement and on trails, but as soon as I change it up to gravel or loose dirt my knee swells and the pain it causes is unreal. Any ideas why this happens?
