A friend of mine has lots of finishers medals, many from track meets as well. She was asking me if I knew of any creative ways of displaying them etc....I've got nothing!

What say you BT community?

Show me your stuff!

Not sure if it's "creative" but, my wife got me something similar to this, I like it.

Bar / Table top?

I tried to attach a photo but it didn't work correctly, just Google "bottle cap table".

That is awesome.  Mine are in a bottom drawer somewhere and I figure they will stay there until I die and then my survivors will throw them away.  So this looks like a really cool thing to do with them.  I can take a picture of them and look at the picture if I want to remember.  Thanks for posting this!

I wanted to put mine in a shadow box.....easier said than done. For father's day, my girlfriend got a large hobby chain store to put them in a shadow box, but the whole thing is enormous. Like 18x24 or something. It's gawdy, and there's only 3 in there. i don't know how to tell her i don't really like it. i bought a 12x12 shadow box last christmas, just never got around to hanging them inside.

Great ideas from everyone. If anyone has a pic of the table/bar top idea, that would be great. Even gawdy shadow box pics would be cool.

I think I have about 15 or so...not sure, but what I did with mine was put it on a coat rack rod in the "DJ's Misc closet". Since I live in Vegas, it only make sense to have one coat, and that's in the other closet (too many closets!!). The stuff in there is cleaning stuff (mop, broom, etc), and my hiking stuff, my skiing stuff, etc.

Many people I know just shove them in a drawer. I'll like to display them, but then after acquiring so many, I realize why people really don't display them, unless if it's something really meaningful to them (Ironman, HIM, etc).

My friend is going to get me a metal medal holder that's minimalist and I can display them vertically instead of horizontally like many displays are, so the medals are going to overlap vertically. Hope that make sense.

I have a plain white peg board like this with longer pegs. I put medals on it and then hang my running hats/ visors on the top. So it's a functional hat rack/ medal display. Granted it is inside of the front hall closet so not that much of a display- but it does provide motivation as I'm grabbing a visor to go running.

Here's a thread I started a little while back asking a similar question and there were some good photos posted:

The race number holder is a nice addition.

Very timely thread as I just put up a hat rack in my den to hang my medals from.  I'm just getting started in this fun sport so my collection is small but sure to grow.  For my race numbers I plan on getting a basic photo album and add an index card with timing stats, etc. to go with each number.

Just a curtain rod with a couple shelves on top for awards that aren't your typical medal.

My husband put this together for me out of the sign my kids made for my first half marathon. I love it.

We have a coffee table that is made like a shadow box on top. Right now it is full of family pics, but it occasionally gets changed out and the medals and #'s can go in it. I was surprised when I googled it and saw a number of types of table.

ooo I like that! I used to have mine in shadow boxes and put them up in my office because it ammused my patients but then I moved and they sat in teh boxes in a closet for a long time.  Then I got some over the door hooks and hung them there but then I moved again and there is not really enough room on the

ONE over the door thing now.  I put all my race numbers in a photo album in order.

I used a faux wheel mount, but I guess you could use a real wheel if you wanted...

CapTex and Shiner Beer Run both had bottle opener medals.  CapTex even has a magnet on it.

My basement is set up as a bar area, wonder if I could turn something like that into a hanging light.

As the fog cleared, the buoy that I first saw earlier in the morning was just the first marker in a very long line of buoys that stretched across the lake like a runway for a 747 jetliner.

I think quite truly for the first time I 'get it'. It's not just about the fitness. It's not just about the great little endorphin rush as you hit 5, 10, 15 miles...its not just the medal at the end.

More than any other factor – including distances in other sports, weight, height – time on bike proved important for faster performance.
