What hats are people wearing?
I Am looking for one that has the best airflow or keeps you cool while providing sun protection. I have been wearing a Nike visor for a while during runs and for both my HIMs but I am tired getting a burned scalp.

I'm wearing a running hat that I got at an event (Wildflower) after switching from a visor for the same reason of sun protection.  It could use better air flow and I found out the hard way over the weekend that dumping water on my head during a run does not have the same cooling effect as it did with just the visor!

Balding 40-44 AG here. 2xu has a hat that is my go to hat during georgia summers and all races. Worth a try.

The last race I did this gave out these hats (with the race deets) in the race kits.
I can hardly tell i'm wearing it and it's the coolest hat I've ever had on my head!

I had a really nice solomon running cap.  might have been an 'XA'.  Left it on the Nantucket Ferry last week and I miss it!  I like the material- it was a thin, light, smooth nylon.  Grey and white.

oddly enough, I've been doing some internet searching and I like the two hats mentioned above, the 2XU and headsweats one.

Other than being lightweight, breathable, and a little water resistant, the three other features that I want are:

1.  adjustable tightness

2.  Lots of reflective bits.  front, back and side.  I like to be seen at night, and

3.  the rear of the hat has a little open area where the tightening strap is, for me to clip on a blinky light.

Do the head sweats and 2XU meet my needs?

Anything by Headsweats. I keep telling them to use the tagline I came up for them:

Headsweats: It's like a hug for your head.

I bought a hat with a nice discount for being a USA triathlon member and it turned out to be headsweats and it's awesome...

In addition to headsweats, I really like Sugoi.... I have several and rotate them a bit as they can get nasty..

www.roadid.com puts out some nice race hats on the cheap. I bought a visor and a hat for a total of $20.

Do you struggle to hold your power output indoors versus outdoors? The keys to this problem are due to lack of cooling and the flywheel effect.

Often athletes forget the fitness basics such as warm up and cool down. We know they are important, but we want to get into the meat of our workout without wasting time.
