Woo hoo!! Well done.

My first tri I used a mountain bike and I felt really out of place too. At the end though, I felt the same as you. It's a great feeling of accomplishment.

Congratulations. Glad that you enjoyed the day. Like all of us you will probably have your ups and downs but stick with it, it's a great way of life. BTW I never feel like I belong but that doesn't stop me!

At mile ten I heard a noise like I had gotten paper in my spokes or something. I looked but saw nothing but a few seconds later my rear tire blows out.

I went into the pool area (as this was a pool swim) and got body marked. That's when it hit me that I was there to race - this was not a clinic.

The challenge? The accomplishment? I want to do this because it is an opportunity to live life. The event is an indoor sprint triathlon. I get to experience the challenge on a safer scale.

I was passing others who were saying, "Good job, 587" (that was my race number). People were cheering me on. These were the nicest people I have ever been around!
