  • 1500 meters
  • 02m 29s / 100 meters
Comments:

Started off ok, but I don't think I was completely over my cold and my breathing rate quickly shot up and I had difficulty slowing it back down hence the fact my time was only 1min faster than my 1900m time!
What would you do differently?:

Not be ill!
Transition 1
  • 01m 19s
Comments:

Pretty smooth transition and managed to not run past my spot for the first time in ages!
Bike
  • 1h 25m 28s
  • 26 miles
  • 18.26 mile/hr
Comments:

Somehow I managed to accidentally pull the strap of my left shoe out of the plastic loop and couldn't feed it back through whilst cycling which meant I ended up doing the whole ride with one shoe unstrapped
What would you do differently?:

Check everything before the race starts!
Transition 2
  • 00m 44s
Comments:

Another smooth transition
Run
  • 51m 30s
  • 6.2 miles
  • 08m 22s  min/mile
Comments:

Lap 1 - 12:56
Lap 2 - 12:54
Lap 3 & 4 - 25:52 (Forgot to hit split button at end of lap 3, but averages 12:56 between them!)

Scarily consistent pacing which ended up with my best 10k time!
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

not completely recovered from illness

Many people have been asking my opinion of this popular show, so I feel obliged to scream out: It's terrible! It’s horrible! It's abusive! I also feel like throwing my shoe at the TV.

I’m a 240lb man, and I run relatively long distances. How would you recommend training for marathon and IM distances as heavy as I am?
