Lets get it started- who is in?

I'm in for Ironman #2, want to do better in LP this time around so 7 years later I am returning.

Figured we could break away from the other IMLP thread.

Congrats to all that competed and finished this year, I was there watching and then volunteering at the last aid station on the run from 8-midnight. Had a lot of fun cheering on the 2013 crew but now it's time for the 2014 crew to get going.....

Volunteered this year (at the crosswalk at ~ mile 25.5), and I'm in for 2014!

Will be my first Ironman as well.

Man ... I remember this feeling last year as I had just wrapped up my volunteer weekend and signed up for my first IM.

Enjoy the journey, friends. It's an amazing ride. Remember to find gratitude, and to express it, along the way. It has become a cliche, but the race is merely the celebration for what you're about to take on. It'll be 2015 before my next IM, but I'm already giddy with excitement about what the next two years of training will hold.

Congrats Troy, glad your journey was successful. It was great volunteering in 2012, wish I could have been there with you this year. Maybe 2015 is my year - I am not planning on trying for 2014 given business and injuries. I do not feel unfulfilled, but I do want to complete LP

I'm in. First IM. I was in New Zealand for IM NZ this year and spectated, then worked in the Emergency Department that night and saw much carnage. My goal is to finish alive with all of my vital organs working properly.

Raced this past year, will be up next year to volunteer and make a go at it in 2015. Taking a season off from the IM circuit, ride shorter courses, mainly HIM, some Olys gain more power on my bike, lose some more weight and come out in IMLP15 faster then this year. Good luck to EVERYONE competing in 2014. It is a great course. The volunteers and spectators are the best out there.

One piece of advice for those doing it for your first time, ride that first loop sloooooooooooooooow. Good luck everyone! Ill be creeping the thread.

Volunteered in the med tent as a nurse this year (8pm to close). Caved to the peer pressure and signed up the next morning. First IM. Did a HIM (Musselman) this year.

Psyched, but my wallet still hurts from the hotel and registration. And I wake up on occasion wondering WTH I got myself in to. :)

I rode almost the full course the Saturday before the race. Hit the main hills...up out of town, down into Keene, through Jay, up the Three Bears. For those who aren't familiar with the course...learn to love hills. Long ones.

So..I live in Flatville. Michigan to be exact. Any ideas on training rides with hills close to West Michigan? I would rather not make a trip to LP before the race. We have some courses up north with alot of ascents and descents, but no long hills.

I'm In as well, This will be my second attempt at LP. Did it in 2012, and volunteered this year. I'm starting to plan things out now and get my training going since I have a lot of work to do to get to the same level I was in 2012. It will be a good year my friends lets get this started.

I was curious if anybody was going to be doing any of the LP camps next year. I was thinking about doing it just haven't done the research yet. In 2012 I did Syracuse 70.3 as my warm up race. I was thinking I would switch it up this year and do the camp instead.

I'm not sure if I'll be doing any of the camps, but sometime in April or May, we may go up for a weekend to train.

That sounds like a good idea as well. Though going in April or May could be a little cold, at least it seemed to be this past year.

Its going to be my second attempt at the race, finished in just over 16 hours last year and I plan to shave a few hours off my time and not crash as hard as I can into the wall lol
