Subject: Liability
I have been away for a few days but the race that my bike was stolen at was a race in Clermont, Fl. The race director was Fred Sommers from Sommer Sports. You might want to avoid this race or put a lock on your bike because mine was stolen and he is just ignoring my calls.

I asked some lawyer friends about this, and they said it sounds like the fault is with the race director. They may have had a security company required to oversee the safety of the bikes, so they could recoup their fees from the security company. But as far as you are concerned, the race director is responsible. Have you tried going the legal route? Still sucks though, sorry to hear you going though this

Wow, I'm glad you shared because I'm in Florida. I will definitely think twice before I do one of his events based on this event.

this is the second post i've seen in the last few books on a bike being stolen at a race...I doubt they are linked, but its interesting...
