Pre-race routine:

Traffic nearly gridlocked, so Parked JUST West of 25 on Plum Creek Prkwy, and Biked the few blocks to Start. Used Restrooms in building but accessible from outside to apply Chamois Butt'r and hide it under the sinks to get later. Starting late was great for Temp and NOT carrying jacket or even warmers.

Comments:

Temps great, and clear sky, but WIND was fierce from the South so in our face from the get go for 25miles. Riding by Heart Rate, so only drafted a couple of times the whole ride, which left me at under 9MPH in the wind and the HR just about blowing up anyway. But kept lid on, and had a great ride. The 100K was perfect as I was just starting to really suffer on climbs by the end.
Did not stop at ANY Aid Stations- keeping steady workload and NOT wanting to join the 1000-1,500 folks at each Station (~4,500 riders total).
It's a great course, would like to ride it again when not so windy!
What would you do differently?:

Event comments:

Post Race Food Excellent. I declined to walk the Expo in my Bike Shoes and it was too far to go get them from the Car and come back. But very good and pretty fun ride.

Known for its brutal cadences, nasty sprints and 12-minute hills, the spin class seems to be the perfect substitute for a raunchy ride outside. But is it?
