So I am interested in the Stages POM and was wondering who on here is currently using it and what are there thoughts? Is it worth the money?

I almost bought one of these a couple of months at before I found out that they do not have an option for a FSA crankset. It seems like a good deal if you have a comparable crankset.

don't have one- but DC Rainmaker gave it a good review (with their new firmware).  And- I don't know anyone that does more thorough review on fitness electronics stuff.  Seems to be as accurate as any of them.  But given the price, the ability to swap rear wheels- seems like a perfectly fine choice.  Like said above- if you've got a compatible crank set...

Cycleops dropped the price on powertaps- so that's a pretty competitive option.  And, powertaps are well proven, reliable, accurate and similarly priced.  I guess the real reason to go with the stages is if you have a couple different rear wheels you want to be switching between.  or- if you have multiple bikes with the same crankset.

If you're not going to decide until December anyway, then I would keep your options open for now.  The power market has been going through a bit of a revolution in the past 12 months, and more specifically in the past 2-3 months.  Either new products hitting the market or price reductions on some of the current stuff.  This should drive down the prices on the used market substantially, but I think those effects haven't quite sunken in yet.  I wouldn't be surprised if you start seeing $700 used quarqs or $300 used wireless PTs between now and December.

I agree with Jason. Garmin just released the Vector power meter. It's going to shake things up a lot in the power meter market once they get the initial kinks out.
