Hey Jeremy - I'm Mike from Grand Rapids.

My wife is from Owosso so once the Fred Meijer trail connects GR to Owosso I'm planning to make that ride.

Any idea when it will be complete?  I'm foggy on the details but I thought a year or so ago it was announced that his foundation wrote the final check(s) to ensure the trail gets paved and has funding for future maintenance...

I'm Brad, obviously. I split time between the Grand Rapids area and the Novi area by Detroit. When in Novi, I do most of my summer training at Island Lake Rec Area. I also am in Grand Haven a lot during the summer weekends, and do some training there.

I'm pretty much everywhere, I guess.

Hello, I'm Kristin from Detroit. I spend a lot of time running, riding and swimming around Detroit, Dearborn and Island Lake.

Done with tris for the year, focusing on building a bit more speed before the Freep marathon. Thinking about my first half-iron next summer... but I'll need to spend a lot more time on the bike before that happens.

Hey folks.

I'm based on the border of Caledonia and Middleville. I've been doing this triathlon gig since the summer of 1995. I check in from time to time to see what the buzz is. My next adventure will be the 1/2 in Tawas.

Incidentally, I would love for you to check out my podcast. It's very Michigan biased and based. If you want to check it out, here's a link.

I know that there's been a planning commission called "Rails to Trails" and the work in Clinton County has been slow recently. There's a bit of controversy with the farmers who have been using the 'trail' for the past several years since it was basically abandoned.

We ride around the Grass Lake/Waterloo area, and swim at Trout Lake at ILRA.

Hope to see everyone out there!!

Hey guys, how'd it go and was KL able to race??  I heard about her injury.

For the thread, I'm Amy from Livonia.  I've been racing for about 5 years and mostly enjoy shorter distance stuff.  I train almost exclusively at Island Lake, at least for the bike/swim.  We've been getting out to Trout pretty often this year, it's a hidden gem.

Everyone I've met on the MI BT forum so far is super cool Smile

Hey, Jeremy, great reset of who's who.

I"m Rick from Rochester. I used to tri a lot as well as hang out on BT, but been traveling internationally for work so tri / BT / life are pretty much at the mercy of Delta.

Planning on tris next year, maybe start the season like the old days - with American Triple-T. Also likely to join up with Infinite multisport as they're Rochester-based and have cool peoples.

Always up for a ride or run on paint creek / clinton river trail / stony, assuming I'm in town. And I'll be running outside through the winter.

Jon, M/M/31, looking for some training friends.... oh wait, this isnt AOL chat rooms.....

Seriously, Jon from Birmingham. I stick to the local seen mostly, but now have the desire for more competitive races. I am racing the AG Sprint World Championships in London next Friday and await word if I earned a rolldown sport for the 2014 Worlds in Edmonton. Do mostly Sprints and Olympics, but also race in road (CAT4), and MTB (Sport) here and there. Oh, and one of these days, I will do some track racing if I can get to the track more often.

ILRA/Hines are my playgrounds, but need some new scenery....

If you (or anyone else) is looking for a team, Team Motiv8 will be taking application for the 2014 year. We have a group on the east side too! It would be an honor if you were to consider joining us.

Oh good thread!

I am Jennifer/Jenniferlyn/RedZone/Seashell/RG whatever. ;-)

I live in Berkley, work in Troy, and train all around - Stoney Creek, Hines Drive, Lifetime Fitness and my basement have been my recent haunts.

I race long course and ultra distanced tris mostly now, but still get in some sprints as I like the opportunity to go fast not just long. Working on going fast AND long. Maybe 2014 is the year of that! Ha ha!

I race for Fraser bike, swim with FAST, and am in the Endurance Nation haus for guidance on training and evolving into a better all around triathlete and wife. Will never leave my BT roots though!

Great idea Jeremy.

I'm Aaron, I live in Lansing - generally I run and bike in town, bike in my basement and swim at the Westside Y. I'm a member of the Lansing Triathlon Team. I probably crossed paths with several of you this year - did races at both Island Lake and Grass Lake.

We just helped put on a kid's tri here at the Hawk Island County Park. We had a good first year - 150 kids - and hope to grow and improve the race. Not sure about the date for next year, but keep us in mind if you have kids 0-13!

(thanks to JHag for his stellar volunteer work and for trusting us with his kids!)
