Help! I did Ironman Canada and got home last night. I had my watch start uploading. When I went to Garmin connect the data is corrupted. It only shows the swim and T1. T1 shows .26 of a mile but shows the entire riding map. Is there a way to get the data to upload from the watch again?

Do you see the correct data in the watch history? You could try a manual upload. I wonder if you should try to delete the corrupt file in Garmin Connect before the upload? I would probably just get on the horn with customer service before mucking about too much.

Were you using multisport mode?
Do you still see the data on your watch? Did you "finish" the multisport workout on the watch (hit reset)?

I had a similar problem after my tri in May. At first I thought the bike and run data were lost but they were still there and got imported to GC on the next download.

I also lost data in an Ironman last weekend, on a 910xt. It was in multisport mode, and worked fine until somewhere around mile 80 on the bike. It zeroed the bike distance, and wouldn't record the run distance either.

The few times my data has been corrupted on my 910xt is when I've finished a workout, hit "stop," but did not hit "reset," and the auto transfer started because I left the watch near my computer and there was a previous workout that it was trying to download.

In each of the three cases it happened, I had to do a master reset on my watch and delete all the data.  Because that one workout data was corrupted, it was preventing me from downloading any future workouts as well.

Not sure if this is what is happening to you.

I guess doing the entire thing again is not an option?

Due a manual upload from connects.garmin.com you should be able to retrieve it unless you manually whipped it from the 910

How do you do a manual upload? I plug my watch into the charger and plug the USB into the computer but the computer doesn't recognize it. Interwebz search seems to indicate that ANT+ is the only transfer option from a 910xt.

"Manual upload" requires you to have the file somewhere on your computer. I'm not sure how that would work. You can't access the data on the watch through the power cable-- there is no data transfer on that.

Have you tried resetting the watch and recording another activity, and then uploading to your computer? I think that is what ended up "saving" the end of my multisport file on one of my triathlons. It looked like the T2 and run data didn't transfer at first, but then it did on the next upload.

If it's anything like Forerunner 10, you can click on "Upload" button for Garmin Connect and select "Upload Selected Activities" and find the one you want to upload.
