Ahem...

^^^^^^^ (silent space for the dough down the drain and not doing a race about which you were psyched)

I also totally get feeling bummed about pulling the plug, but definitely the smart decision here.  Doesn't matter why you feel punk (IM or any other cause - no matter), just that you do.  You'll have a much better next YEAR (or two) with this decision.

Anywho, get well and enjoy getting back to training and the lifestyle you've come to love.

Matt

$350 Worlds + what I thought was $250 for PM but that was just $185 so I'm only out $515.

My tri club is the backbone of the event so we got 25 slots and I was NUMBER TWENTY FIVE of 25 called. Imagine the suspense after the first 24 numbers.

I had to provide a volunteer whether I raced or not which I did.

Well, you will get the T shirt if you go to registration. Expensive T shirt but hey, it's something :-)

Well the question arose as to what my coach said and so far she had kept from making a decision leaving it up to me and her mantra is "listen to your body," she texts me today how it's going and I tell her and then she says definitely don't race. I have been down too long to show up just to race.

I'm doubting that I'll ever again be unsick by now :\ Day 31 Seriously how long is this going to take? Eight days laying in bed. I'm through one of the steroids but started the other antibiotics.

Wonder if it's a virus. But no matter what it is, that's kinda long. Gonna make an appt to see my regular doctor as opposed to the two that were available the same day. SOMEbody has to be able to do something about this

I suffer from dizziness issues and on a regular basis my body takes over to where I barely feel it and it doesn't affect anything. I know when I'm getting sick because I start getting more pronounced dizziness symptoms. I was fine until this bug got into my ears and then it all went to crap. So I don't know how many of the symptoms I'm feeling are bug related and how many dizziness related. I've had dizziness flare-ups that had landed me in bed so the dizziness by itself can be quite debilitating. I wonder if it's just complications from the dizziness that have gotten me down more than the sickness itself, the first week when it hadn't gotten to my ears it was MUCH different and less than what it is now.

I miss running. And biking. And swimming Heck, I miss working out.

On a positive note I have been able to be on top of my food intake and haven't gained a pound :D

Good for you for staying on top of your food.  Many who are down and out don't.  Hopefully you figure out the sickness soon.  I agree that a full month is a bit long

You are suffering from a negative addiction with your acute illness and need to race/compete. This is not healthy and could lead to something even worse. Sinus infection are not for the weak and can linger in a low grade form for a long time. Been there and try to avoid this at all costs.
