Subject: Good resource for rides when traveling?
My wife and I will be traveling during our training (visiting friends in Sarasota, FL) and I was hoping to find easy-to-follow bike and run routes to train. I've had no success with my internet searches. I've looked into a local bike club, but their maps are filled with turns. I'd rather not spend my workout referring to a map. I've emailed them, but haven't received a response.

How do you guys that travel a lot find routes to train on?

Thanks for any help.

have you looked at like mapmyride - I know some ppl de-cry it - but you can find routes and search by locations...I use it for starting points quite often - even around where I live, if I want to do something different

what about BT on the Florida state board - maybe something there can give you some info

i use the sufferfest. dont know what you have for a bike comp. but a lot of them have a feature that you can preload a ride and it will give you turn by turn as you ride.

Sarasota has some great bike paths. Do a web search for Sarasota County Bike Paths or Bike routes.

The routes on the Islands are fun!

Easiest if you can schedule it is to actually go on the local group ride. If not, then, you're stuck to Bikely and maps.

I use MapMyRide and check with the LBS. Between the two I can almost always find a ride.
