Comments:

HORRIBLE
legs felt like crap the minute I sat down
could not get a band aid on a blister
had to hit the porta john on the way out
had to stop and fix shoes and compression sleeves on the way out
What would you do differently?:

just about everything

  • 11m 08s  min/mile
Comments:

made it to mile 3.40 and was forced to walk. calf sleeves (new) to tight caused issues with my calves and left ankle (thanks to my stupid mistake) walk A LOT of this as I physically could not run. a lot more to come on this in my blog.
Post race
Warm down:

massaged and food

What limited your ability to perform faster:

pushed a little to hard at the end of the bike and correcting everything on the run

Event comments:

a little disappointed with the post race, B2B seemed to have a lot more going on.

On long runs, I've been taking 4-oz of Gatorade Endurance every 10-minutes, for a total of about 24-oz an hour. Should I boost my liquid consumption on the runs?

During the race there will be plenty of opportunities to exchange bottles, so I'm thinking about going with the aero bottle and Gatorade bottle and fill up as necessary. What should I do?

If a heart patient can do these things, then so can those of you who haven't been split open like a fish and sewn back together.
