Subject: RE: Hip impingement Yes, I was diagnosed with acetabular impingement last October. After going to the ER for lower back pain that had immobilized me for a couple of days. an MRI confirmed psoas tendonitis, torn labrum and hip impingement. I was told that hip impingement is congenital condition and that surgery might need to be done, but not for at least another ten + years. I’m 44 and I have had two really bad flairs ups in the last two years. I have hooked up with two great PT’s that work in the Mendota Heights area. Running is the culprit that makes it flair up so they have been working to correct alignment/posture issues while running. The focus has been on improving my hip flexibility to decrease impingement. I have seen a remarkable difference. If you would like additional info, please let me know. |
