It's time for new tires on my Cannondale Slice 3. I like the look of the white ont he Schwalbe Durano S tires which are what I have on there now, but if there's a good reason (speed) to switch to the GP4000s I'll definitely do it.
Is one tire faster than the other?

Yes.  There is good reason to switch to the GP4000S.  While it's not the absolute lowest rolling resistance tire ever produced, anything that's better isn't much better, and they're a fair amount less rugged.

Also, this is the tire that for some reason, tests best aerodynamically with a number of the new aero rims (FLOs, Zipp Firecrest).

How the Schwalbe's stack up, I really don't know, but the GP4000s are really good.  Get them for race day.  Put some latex tubes in there as well.

The Durano S are dogs compared to GP4000s. I bought a new bike last year and they came stock... after about 100 miles I literally threw them away and swapped on the conti 4000S tires.

I love my GP4000s tires; used them for years. I rode a new set for the Vineman Full Iron Distance Race on some very rough surfaces. No flats for me. Not used the Durano so can't compare the two.

I have a friend that just put the Duranos on his roadie...mainly for their durability and "bang for the buck". He had/has Bontrager R3's also and said the Duranos are noticeably slower but sacrifices the speed for longevity on training rides.

The boat was being tossed around. Someone noted that there were whitecaps on the waves. Another guy said, “This is going to be challenging.” I began to wonder what he meant by 'challenging'.
