Swim
Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Swim was cancelled so they decided to start with racer number 1 and send someone out every 5 seconds. I was the second to last at 803. It was miserable. I watched my whole age group go, the clydedales, and all of the women. I spent my entire ride passing people. It was super annoying. Plus, i started 1 hour after the race started. Strong tailwind on the way out. Pushed heart rate to 165 and just let me pace fall out. Felt great on the way out, and my average was above 26 on the first half. Took 24 ounces of perform on the bike, and pushed to drink every 3 miles. Wore my new aero helmet. not a big fan of it. After the turn the headwind was pretty bad, but stayed aero. What would you do differently?: get a different helmet Transition 2
Comments: pretty basic What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: I felt great coming off of the bike and just took off. Legs felt perfect, almost as if it was another training run. I saw my teammates right out of T2 which was pretty nice. Average paces were: 7:58, 8:10, 8:20, 8:10, 8:08, 8:04, for a total average of 8:09. Previous olympic average was 9:17, so this was awesome for me! Race course was serving perform from the bottle and it tasted so good. It was the orange color perform which was amazing. i drank an ounce or two at every aid station and this seemed to be enough to keep me going. What would you do differently?: Honestly, nothing. I left it all on the course Post race

Woke at 4. Ate 2 pop tarts drank 12 ounces of perform. Arrived around 5:30 went to packet pick up. They gave my packet to someone else so i was put on the reject rack, and was the second to the last number in the race. Shouldn't have been a big deal in a normal race....
met up with my team and did ~10 minute jog with some running drills. Sipped on an 8 ounce bottle with a serving of hammer gel
