Up at 4:30 AM. Had to get to the race early to avoid traffic and parking problems even though my half marathon race did not start until 8:30AM. Rained all night till about 7:30 in the morning when I had to start making my way to the starting line. Light rain started just after the race start for the first couple miles and then ended for the day.

Fueling: ate one banana about 3 hrs before the start of the race. One RCS and one Mito about an hour before the start of the race. One gel about 10 min before the start of the race. One gel and one Enduro about mile 7. Drank most of my two 10oz bottles of Heed during the race.

Course had 5 or 6 taxing inclines on the course but I managed to keep running and not walk any of them. Had a good finish to my race in that I had negative splits from mile 10 to the finish. Hope I can do the same in my next race.

Air Force Museum at the Wright Patterson Air Force Base is a must see.....Awesome.

With stroke improvements I find that when I try and swim long I have lost any speed gains that I had because my stroke count just creeps up and up. I also feel like I'm running out of air.

I just started doing tris this summer and I have two under my belt, both sprints. Is it reasonable to build up for a Oly in early ‘09, with a HIM in Oct of ‘09

After I left the running store, I couldn't stop thinking about the sprint tri and how much of a challenge it would be for me. So instead of joining a gym, I started riding my bike and it felt great.

A product review of the Louis Garneau Tri Air Triathlon Shoe. After nearly two years of testing, see how this shoe performed. Currently being replaced by the Tri Air 2.

This program should be used for an athlete whose goal is to run a marathon in the 1:30-2:30 range and has a good running base in the past 8-12 weeks.

I will assume you have not run consistently more than 6 miles and have never completed a half-marathon. I believe running your first half-marathon is a big task which requires dedication and work.

My training was taking off. I had never felt stronger. I was making bigger strides than I ever had. I was stronger and faster than I had imagined myself ever being.
