Got toe covers for this year as well for the bike, friend said it made a big difference. Definitely getting into dry clothes after the swim!

Anyone look at the marine forecast? Might be having some NNW winds Saturday am:

LONG TERM /SATURDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/...
AS OF 300 AM WEDNESDAY...HIGH PRESSURE MOVING NEAR THE WATERS
THROUGH THE PERIOD WILL KEEP A RELATIVELY WEAK GRADIENT...THUS
KEEPING WINDS LIGHT. ALTHOUGH WIND DIRECTION WILL SHIFT FROM NORTH
EARLY SATURDAY...BACK TO WEST...AND EVENTUALLY RETURN TO THE NE BY
LATE SUNDAY...SPEEDS WILL BE AROUND 10 KTS THROUGH THE EXTENDED.
SEAS WILL BE ONLY 1-2 FT THANKS TO THE LIGHT WINDS AND LACK OF ANY
SIGNIFICANT SWELL...WITH A VARIABLE WAVE DIRECTION FOLLOWING THE
WIND.

That should be a push back home on the bike with winds out of the north.

IMO, compared to years past this is about as good a forecast as you can hope for. OK, the start will be cold, but you should be fine in a wetsuit with relatively warm water- - main issue will be the transition to the bike, which will be chilly. The wind looks to be light, again, relative to years past, and the temps for the run look spectacular! You know it will be cold in the morning so can plan accordingly. If I were racing I would be so excited about this forecast! Everyone is different though so maybe you think I am crazy :-)

ETA: Just checked weather.gov and they are saying winds from the North of less than 5mph! So basically you get a clear, cool, windless, flat ride. Its gonna be FAST on the bike if that is the case! And next to no humidity. I'm excited for you guys :-)

okay, besides the freezing am, I'm feeling much better. I hate swimming the channel with a cross chop. It makes me nauseous :-P
So excited for this race. BTW, i'm bib #1128, doing the half. See everyone Friday and Saturday.

Hey everyone!

Only a few more days till the B2B. Reading over everyones posts I can feel how excited you all are! Me and hubs just started doing Sprint distance last summer and loved it! Some year we want to be able to work up to the half distance. Because of work we both missed the entire Tri season this year. Our Tri bikes sit in our living room looking very bored.. haha For the upcoming race, we both have volunteered to be out on the run course on our cruiser bikes cheering you all on to the big finish! We will be out there the entire time till the last person crosses the finish line. We live just north of Wilmington and the weather has been beautiful in the 70s this week, humidity is GONE FINALLY and nights have been in the 50s. The forecast looks fantastic for race day. Just wanted to say *hi* and I am proud of each and every single person for getting out there!! Hope to join you some day! See you on the run course!

Good luck to all!

Temps look great, but I'm dressing just a little warmer than I originally planned. The start of the bike will be COLD for the first 2 hours, but will then be bearable...I'm anticipating frozen hands and toes, regardless of gloves and socks and toe covers.

The lack of strong winds is what excites me the most. Strong winds on a long ride can really demoralize you. I don't know that these will be fast conditions, but they'll definitely be better than I originally thought.

The run temps will be great!

At the brunch this morning they said "this afternoon."  They also said something about three computer going down yesterday.

They're up, minus some gaps. If you scroll to the bottom of the page you can also see the Age group category results. Great job everyone!

Way to go sink, crash, limp! Congrats! I was able to dig deep and earn a 12:35 for my first attempt at 140.6, pretty happy with the race, what an incredible experience.

Nice job, peeps!

The results are changing daily, but hopefully they'll fix that soon. I went from a 10:37, to a 10:35, and now up to a 10:38.

Boy, the weather was a doozy this past weekend, especially at the start! Nothing but numb hands, feet, and face for the first few hours.

Hope you guys had a great race!

I went down to the beach the day before to scout out the course, and it was glorious...the sun was out, the sea was as smooth as glass, and only a hint of a breeze was blowing. “Perfect,” I thought.
