I have to say I am a little disappointed that hats, shirts and medals look alike except for the name on them between the 2 events I ran this year (Steelhead and Augusta). The bags they gave away are exactly alike except for the tag on them. Maybe its a branding this but was hooping for something a little more unique. Usually you can see a finisher hat from a distance and tell what event it was now you have to look twice to see what event it was.

You should probably get a large tattoo with both the MDot and the name of your race. That way everyone will know what race you've done all the time.

i agree, and don't ever take off the event bracelet or bike sticker.

REV 3 doesn't do this, every event is completely unique in of itself

Even more disappointing was that they had the 70.3 bags for sale in the merch tent. I also don't like that the HIM and IM hats are nearly identical.

Definitely easier/cheaper on WTCs end but it does make the swag less special.

The branded HIM I did this year did not have bags for us, and if you wanted a hat or visor you had to purchase it. Finisher shirts were also like 35$.

Lucky you got a bag

Using a high-volume schedule for many months is not the best tactic. Build speed and skill several months out, and then transition to a high-volume IM plan.

I just had a couple of problems, I could count the number of triathlons I had contested at zero. Secondly, I could count on one hand the number of times I had been swimming in the last 17 years.

This half Ironman plan covers many weeks of challenging, but attainable training for someone who has some endurance experience, and ideally some Olympic distance races within the past season.
