whats so dorky about that quote?...

We were in a torrential downpour, with lightning around us and still debating the merits of training at the time. We ended up ducking into a model home in a new development that happened to be handily close. I think it was dorky !

you go to a dinner party and spend at least half an hour chatting to the husband of a friend of a friend about spd's, eggbeaters, spedplays and watching le tour to see what pedals the pros use.

That is very important. Especially if you have children. This makes for a nicer quality of life, even if you don't do tris.

Better yet, getting right out of the pool, throwing on your running shoes and sprinting to the treadmill!!

This is more of a winter occurance, but it happens!

You think about the little kids bike cadence during the kiddie bike portion of the 4th of July parade in your town.  This is pretty much when I know I needed help.

That is so true. My wife makes fun of me sometimes because at the lake I am more interested in someones boat than I am what is inside the boat.

...you look in your suitcase, packed and ready for vacation to FLA (like me today), and see clothes and...

swim & run gear, the latest issue of Inside Tri, a copy of Going Long, a list of endurance food recipes that you're going to try out on your family, and a copy of the TV schedule at my sister's house so that she can TIVO the Lifetime race on Saturday.

I need to get a grip.

That was actually how I started my day today. But I am guilty as charged.

And someone mentioned checking a certain tri-related forum 4-5 times a day? Seems a little low to me...I'm on the 4-5 times per hour kick - I have a pretty low stress job, thankfully.

Well.... for me... the lady who use to stay out till 5:00 AM partying on the weekends... getting UP at 5:00 AM on the weekends to workout... is DORKY!

I actually go to bed early on Friday and Saturday night... and wake up even earlier on the weekends, than I do during the week.

Yes, that makes me a total dork. I use to be the cool club promoter... now, I'm the go to bed early dork.

OH! And... I got these socks with stick figures doing each event... that's pretty dorky! The bottom of the socks have "TYPE A" on them... FUNNY!!!

well this just happened about 10 minutes ago.. you go to get something out of your purse and out fall GU packs... and then you have to explain to people what they are and why you carry them, which normally leads to a little heckling

I was hoping someone would start this thread! (Because if nobody did, I was going to!)

Anyway...

1. You take better care of your bike than your car. (Bike: condition and tires checked daily. Car: oh, wait...when are you supposed to change the oil? Tires? I'm sure they'll be fine.)

2. You often feel like stopping a 5'7" kid on a BMX bike to tell him his bike doesn't fit properly.

3. Your boyfriend gets all excited about new parts for his car. You get all excited about new parts for your bike.

4. You have two different tan lines on your thighs: One from your running shorts, and one from your bike shorts/tri shorts.

5. You look silly in a spaghetti strap dress with a low back (girls) because of the harsh "racer back" tan line on your shoulders/back.

Ooooh, I'll think of more later!
