Looks like I will be on the water, and possibly in the medical tent after that as a volunteer.

Who's all going to be there? Hopefully you all blissfully pass me at both stations! :D :D :D

John

I will be pulling people from the water at swim exit, then relaxing in the ONE tent for the duration. That is what I call a 'primo-supremo' way to race. HA HA

I will be stroking, pedalling, and running my way through Soma, which will be my second HIM . My coach tells me to consider it a long training day before IMAZ...race it, but remember it is not my "A" race. I hope to be smiling as I pass you both. You will recognize me because I will be the one making everyone else look good.

I shall be slugging through it. I'll be the slowest swimmer ever, the guy with a big ole smile on his face on the bike, and the guy wondering "why...why do I do this" on the run.

Thanks fellas for volunteering! That's so cool!

I was going to but I bagged it and called it an end to the tri season this year.  Back to training for next year, Tucson marathon and Boston.

Not doing it this year, but volunteering instead!

I'll be making sure all you bikers know you are going the right way! Look for me in the Luna Chix tent on the bike course!!

Good luck to everyone racing - it's a great race!!

Well the Jedi Master will be there, I hope that I don't get performance issues around someone as big as him.

How many racing SOMA are also doing IMAZ? I've been looking forward to this race for most the year but am getting a bit gun shy the last month. I don't want it to take away from my IMAZ performance...

So don't race it all out. Treat it like a good training day, work on nutrition, transitions, etc.

X2 take it at I'm race pace, maybe just a tad stronger, you will be fine and recovery should be complete in a week.

This is my concern. I really struggle not racing at a race

Considering it a long race day to dial in nutrition and hydration is what my coach told me. He also said to race it, but to remember IMAZ is my big race, so don't race SOMA hard.

Devilfan02, Use SOMA as an opportunity to force yourself to tone it down a notch. I hear so many in IM run into problems because they race it too hard and fizzle out.

Soma is a month away from IMAZ and the start of your taper. Race it how you want.. you will be ready and recovered for your big race.

Yes, good luck everyone!  I'll probably ride over to TTL and do some cheering come Sunday.  Crush it!

Hello all. My 10 year old daughter and I are doing a Halloween triathlon in mesa next week, and would like to take her to SOMA to watch the race. Where is a good place to park? Is there a charge for parking or anything? Thanks. Good luck to all doing the race.

Normally, parking is free at the US Airways garage, but this year it will cost $10 due to ASU Homecoming stuff. To get free parking, you need to go by the RR tracks to the west of the garage.

Cool, I guess that I didn't read carefully.

Perfect weather tomorrow, it will be a little nippy initially on the bike. Water is 68F.

How'd everyone do??? The weather was a bit cool in the morning but definitely warmed up!

I volunteered this year - definitely a good experience! I recommend EVERY athlete volunteer to really appreciate what all the volunteers/police etc do on the race course!

I was the annoying girl at the bottom of Curry right before the turn north up College, telling everyone to slow down on the turn :-) (Buzzkill I know!)
BUT, no one crashed on my watch! Thanks to everyone who said thank you - it meant a LOT!

CONGRATS to all racers and hope everyone had a great race! Looking forward to doing this again next year!! Rest and Hydrate!

Set a PR and knocked 25 minutes of last year's time.

I think I ignored you about the whole slow down part. HAHA. I did say thanks to every volunteer I saw at least once (and when I didn't have a GU or water bottle in my mouth).

Thanks for volunteering. That's crazy cool of you!
