Overcast
Total Time = 51m
Overall Rank = /
Age Group = female
Age Group Rank = 8/20
Pre-race routine:

ran a 5k when I got to the pond early so I could get the extra mileage out of the way. NEver got in the extra swim due to the weather. Ate some beans and a granola bar, but I was hungry by the time the race actually started.
Event warmup:

5k run. Hang out.

Swim

  • 1500 yards
  • 01m 40s / 100 yards
Comments:

Good swim against the waves, but I lost my draft and some ground on the back with the waves... ODD BUT I think I will eventually be able to hang with the "big girls"

What would you do differently?:

swim faster - DUH!
Transition 2
  • 01m 45s
Comments:

Took the time to dry my feet, reapply the bandaid and socks on.
What would you do differently?:

nothing. This was how I planned it tonight.
Run
  • 24m 55s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 08m 01s  min/mile
Comments:

1st mile was slow - like 8:35. Then I picked it up sub 8 for the rest of the run. Felt good, but definatly LT for the last mile.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing :) This was my fastest aquathon run yet, so I'm making progress!
Post race
Warm down:

Beer, beer and some food, but mostly beer.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

time of day, post big race, ya know the usual.

Event comments:

Great race and probably a 5 for the cost of entry. 2 more to go and I'll be at them both :)

So who are the big girls? Kylie & Co.? I'd say 25' in that was moving pretty good. Hell, you were already almost a mile into the run before I even got out of the water!

Thanks for the beers!
