Member 131 | Subject: RE: Murder in the city Calgary 16 to date (15 of those someone has been charged) A high rate for us. According to Statscan (I think) in 2012 Canada had 543 homicides in the entire country. The Calgary rate went up I think a few years ago with some gang stuff going on. |

Sensei Sin City | Subject: RE: Murder in the city I feel like there is a hidden agenda here but I'll play. 92 in Vegas so far. Half from guns, the other half from stabbing, blunt forced trauma, strangled, poison, drownings and hit by cars/trucks.
However, I would have expected it to be a LOT higher according to CSI: Crime Scene Investigators. According to them, we have serial killings every week. |

We've had zero this year....but I live in a town of 130,000 and in the 10 years I've lived here we've had a total of 7 people murdered..... But 30 minutes south...in Dallas...that's a whole other ballgame. |

Where did you get that number OP? 30 seconds of google searching finds 215 murders in the Vancouver area in the last 3.5 years, that is an average of 61 per year. Nice try though.

Larger than what would usually be considered the Greater Vancouver area. Also, I know a few years ago, we had a lot of gang activity, so the totally probably don't average out over 3.5 years.
