Subject: help on my bike training
saturday i went on a bike session of about 100km and 1800m of total level (sorry for my bad english), i was doing good but at about 75km...lights out! suddenly and completely! i felt like no energy left, legs became "soft", every time i blinked my eyes i had a little blurred vision and i was seeing little dots around, and then i was experiencing some nausea.
i must say i'm not a good cyclist, i bought the bike on february and have a total of about 1600km in my legs. sure i need to train more but, could also be a problem in my food intake? 'till that point i had 1 energy bar and 1 energy gel. stopped for a coffee and than lights out.
any help is useful. thank you

I am not an expert but that sounds like you ran out of fuel.

What did you eat, other than the energy stuff and the coffee, before you set out to ride a 100k?

i had breakfast with 3 slices of pancarre (white bread) and jam, and a yogurt with cereals.
it was at 8 a.m., and we started the training at 10-10:20 am

Sounds like either a "bonk" or dehydration could also be a factor depending on fluid intake. On longer rides however, it isn't uncommon to experience a few "ups" and "downs" physically. A short break of 10-15 minutes can sometimes do wonders for your energy level.

the fact is that it happened right after a short break. i don't think it was dehidration because i am prone to it so i had 2 bottles, water and sodium+potassium in the other, and tried to drink often

100k ride?

1 bar and 1 gel?

way too little nutrition. For a ride of that length... 200cal/hr is probably on the low end. Probably way too little hydration too. I go through 2 bottles in an hour usually.
