Assuming both fit (they do, based on retul data) which would you choose?

Well it probably depends on a few different things, but just based on the limited data I'd get the Shiv. It is a newer updated frame. There are some other things that go into the equation for me...

This is coming from someone who rides and likes his P2.

I rode both of these bikes (and a Trek SC 7.4) and went with the Shiv.

I think I would have been happy with either one, but I'm pretty brand loyal and have quite a collection of Specialized hard and soft goods, so chose the Shiv.  I also like the shop that sells Specialized more than the Cervelo shop, so that influenced my decision too.

The 2014 Shiv has the fuel cell, which seems cool, and is better than the 2013's fuelselage.

You probably can't go wrong with those two choices :)

Shiv is more aero than the P2

I actually own both bikes. My fit coordinates are set up pretty much the same on both bikes and I am faster on the Shiv pedaling the same watts.

I am keeping the P2 for sentimental reasons but I would choose the Shiv if I could have only one.

I would agree the shiv I was considering the same thing a few months ago after my retul fit. My only pro to the P2 was the money savings however went with the shiv based on newer frame and tech. One big thing to consider too is will you use the fuselage?

I ride a Cervelo now and like it, but for some reason I feel that if I went with the P2 I may be wishing for something new a year later. I'm leaning toward Shiv too but it is more more money. I also am trying not to discount the fact that this is triathlon and it's probably inevitable that I'll be wanting something newer/better/faster soon after anyway.

I am considering the Expert shown on sale in this promo: http://bicycle-gallery.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/trishivsale.j...

Agree.

Also, everything will depend on how you are positioned on the bike. I know you have coordinates and the both 'fit' but at that level it is mostly you that will be generating all the drag.

Shiv is more aero than P2, P3 and closer to P4 for comparison purposes.

In August, I picked up a SHIV expert on closeout too, can't beat the deals esp. for a Dura Ace equipped bike. I always ignored Specialized bikes b/c they're one of the big guys, but they spend a lot of money on R&D and it definately works. I love the bike.

BTW, the fuelcel is not a replacement for the hydration fuselage bag in the frame... it's in addition to. The fuelcel is a carry case for spare parts and nutrition. It tucks nicely in the frame and according to Specialized is neutral in aero drag and yaw. I'm getting mine tomorrow from my LBS and using it on Sunday for the race.

The hydration bag in the frame gets getting used to it. It's nice and clean, but some bothersome issues, like the tube nipple falls of the magnet over bumps. It's impossible to fill the bag all the way. It's a 1 liter bag that only fills about 500ml or up to 16-20oz at best in the frame.

I just noticed the deal... whoa, they're tossing in shoes and a fuelcel!!! That's a steal. I paid the same amount in July, but no shoes or fuelcel.

Can they both fit?  Normally I'm against the "get the one that fits" group, because most bikes are very similar in geometry.  However, these two bikes are pretty different at least for my height (5'7).
