Subject: Find a race....help please

I'm trying to work out a race schedule for next year and need a race or 2 for June.  I'm looking for a good Olympic distance race at a venue that also has a Sprint distance race.  I'd prefer somewhere in the midwest to avoid the need for flying.  Anything within 400 miles or so of Missouri works for me.  If the Oly has a pro/elite field that would be even better.  Thanks.

ETA - actually only looking for something in the first 2 weekends in June.

Depends on where in Missouri you're coming from to stay within 400 Miles, but this is a GREAT race!

Topeka Tinman is usually the 2nd (or 3rd?) weekend in June. Not sure why their web site is so honky right now but it's a great race.

Ill second Trinona and add in Elkhart Lake which is the day before. I challenge you to do the double and race both, I did it this year and had a blast, raced better the second day.

There is also Pleasant Prairie later in June just north of Chicago.

Yes, these are all good and meet everything. Does it have to be USAT? Some around Madison in that time that are not, like Triterium. Rev3 Dells does not have a sprint, but pro race is with the Oly. Would also try contacting someone like Thomas Gerlach as he seems really good at finding races like you're looking for.

You'd have to fly so it's probably out for you but worth a peak.

NO FLYING! I'm not even going to look and be tempted. LOL  These races are for my kids and I'm already flying them twice.

Trinona looks cool....Tinman is a funky distance so my kid will nix that one....anybody have any experience with Grand Rapids triathlon?  It's advertised as the USAT long course national championship race for 2014 in addition to having a sprint and oly.

Okay.......don't look.  You probably wouldn't want to see the pics of people jumping off the ferry for the swim start!

I did it this year and loved it. Plus there is a killer hill on the bike course.

I did the olympic in Grand Rapids 2012 and really liked it. Lake was clean. Really nice swim. Bike is flat and fast but can get windy. Run is rollers with 1/2 shade and 1/2 open. It got hot on the run. I live in Cleveland so similar climate. June can be 50/50....hot or freezing. I would do the race again.
