hi looking to get a training aide for the next session. I do tri`s i have used a HRM and bike cadence/speedo.

I like the Garmin and i`m on the fence of is the 910 worth the extra coin over a 310?

i have found a 310 tri bundle ,bike cadence, and pod for $270 new

and 910 tri,cadence, foot pod for $558.

my real ?? is what am i getting for 288$ difference. i know it is smaller and i do like that

i believe both log the same info.

thanks for any input on this .

are your cadence and speed sensors ant+? If so, you don't need to purchase new ones.

The swim features and being lower profile was the reasons I went with the 910. I figured I use it almost everyday year road so the extra cost was well worth it for me.

As others have said, the swim metrics and smaller profile make a huge difference. I wouldn't hesitate to buy my 910 again, but it comes down to affordability i guess.

For instance, I wouldn't choose the added benefits of the 910 over a swim membership or new running shoes or something like that. If you aren't particularly affected by the cost gap, i'd say go with the 910.

I also really like my 910xt for the swim metrics. Just remember to wear it on the wrist that touches the all for optimal lap data.

In my opinion, you don't really need a footpod sensor. If you run on the treadmill you can just use the data from the treadmill about distance.

Really? What about if you flip turn?

Not buying one, just curious.

If any of you are Canadian and have a Costco membership, starting on Monday, November 4th until the 17th they have the Garmin 310XT w/HRM on sale for $179.99 at www.costco.ca (website only). I know I will be picking one up.
