Just found this after not being on BT for a while. I use the Garmin connect to post my workouts but will post here also. I am doing mostly running as I am getting ready for my first marathon in March. I refuse to do a treadmill (I tried but stopped after 2 miles and finished my run outside in the rain) I just put on extra clothes and go outside I live in NC so its not so bad. Anyone else use Garmin connect?

I too refuse to run on the treadmill. I can't think of anything more boring. I would rather battle the elements than battle the boredom. It warmed up today (40°F) and I got a 4 mile run in during a break in the rain.

Another 16 miles on the trainer today. If I would have planned the day right, it was nice enough to take the bike out on the road, but my opportunity to get a workout in didn't happen until after it was dark. Back to the grind tomorrow. Weights in the a.m., run at lunch. Hope everybody had a great weekend

After a terrible run on Sunday I had a great run today. Only 3 miles but it felt good, and it was after a swim workout.

I haven't posted for a few days.  Did 10 miles on the trainer last night.  And unfortunately I will be logging almost all of my miles on the trainer or the treadmill until late February or March depending upon road conditions.  I refuse to run on snow or ice and take the chance of falling on city streets because of the unknown under the snow or ice hiding under the snow.  I fell a few times last year on places that I thought I knew really well and found a new pothole that I didn't see until after I went down.  I have a nice stereo and tv setup in my workout room and music/recording room, so I can make it through the tough times which gives me a good mental workout also.  Yes, I would rather be outside.

I pushed a bit harder during yesterday's run and beat my best pace by 15 sec/mile (9:42/mile avg). It felt pretty good, except for my stomach. My last several runs have left me with a stomach ache that lasts the rest of the day. The problem (besides having a stomach ache) is that I then don't eat anything for the rest of the day, and then wake up the next morning feeling really fatigued, like today. I'm hoping that since I've picked up the intensity a bit, this is something I will get over. Anyone had similar experiences? I did some looking on the Google machine and found that this isn't uncommon, and that hydration and diet are the biggest culprits. I am going to make sure I drink lots of water today, if it's diet, then most obvious would be to cut out dairy since I don't eat meat or fatty foods often.

Hoping to get time to get on the trainer today. Have a great day all!

For me it was lack of hydration, but it never lasted as long as you are saying either.

Run today. W2D2 of the 5k-10k plan included a couple "fast" running intervals. Still had a stomach ache, but not as bad or for as long. I was able to eat a couple hours after running.

An hour on the trainer this morning, and a 45 minute swim at lunch.

In addition to writing your race number on each upper arm, they also wrote your age on your calf. This allowed me to see who was passing me by in the bike section of this race.

The boat was being tossed around. Someone noted that there were whitecaps on the waves. Another guy said, “This is going to be challenging.” I began to wonder what he meant by 'challenging'.

It’s a challenge to push yourself a little harder and a little further. Be proud of every workout that is accomplished and every step-even the baby ones-that you take on this course to the finishline.

I’m a C-L-Y-D-E-S-D-A-L-E! Many people in the sport know the division is there, but many of them think that it's a 'fat boys division.' So what constitutes a Clydesdale? Why even have this class?
