Subject: Nytro.com anybody bought from them?

Hi all,

being a healthy sceptic I'm looking at the nytro site for a bike, just wondering if anyone else has bought from this site? They don't do Paypal just credit cards so that put me on the back foot.   Looks legit but the old story looks too good to be true?

Yep, I've also bought stuff from them. Not a bike, but parts. Good place.

Happy customer here.  Great communication and customer service if there's an issue.

Purchased my P3 this past May from Nytro. Highly recommend them.

Arranged to fly out to their store in Encinitas, Ca and had them fit me. They were one of the few shops in the country that had my size in stock with that model. They have a program called fly and save where depending on the price of the bike they refund a portion of flight costs. Turned it into a small vacation with my wife. If you go this route, chose a nicer hotel than their partner hotel....

Great service and they went out of their way to have my bike scheduled for build up and ready for fitting in less than a week. Communication was spot on (Dave handled my order) to make sure I didn't end up in Ca without the bike ready for fitting. Fitting was so good (Harve handled my fitting) that I didn't change a thing and rode that exact setup for IM Louisville.

Nytro shipped the bike home for me and upon arrival / unpackaging I noticed the seat post had paint damage (non structural) from shipping. Was really bummed but after sending pictures of the damage, they compensated me a fair amount. They even contacted Cervelo for recommended paint match, then went to the local hardware store, purchased a sample of the paint and shipped it out to me no charge.

To each their own, but it was a good experience for me. FYI, I am a pretty skeptical buyer as well, especially with such a purchase. Took me a while to pull the trigger...but it all worked out and turned into a really cool trip.
Hope the above helps. I have no affiliation with Nytro other than the purchase.

They are expensive if you ask me. Try PBK (pro bike kit), wiggle or chain reaction.

Thanks Everyone,

one of the reasons i got a bit apprehensive was as a result of the Indonesian sites,  great prices actually unbelievable prices, what got the bells ringing with the indo sites was the models of bikes didn't line up with the photos.  Also the Girlie silhouettes on the letter head was a bit of a giveaway .  With this in mind I'll start working towards getting my new Bike but I'll need to keep my Felt,  does this mean I'm turning into a Bike Hoarder?

Bought my wife's 48 (super small size) Orbea road bike from the last March. We frequently go out there anyway and they fitted her the day after Oceanside 70.3, with no worries.

I've purchased some little stuff from there as well, in the store. The bike, we purchased online, they shipped it to us, then we put it on the bike rack and drug it out there for them to fit her on. I saved $150 in tax doing it that way. It seemed stupid, but I saved money.

Excellent shop in Encinitas, CA...plenty of cool coffee shops nearby and the Potato Shack for breakfast, literally 2 doors down the hill towards the beach.

I appear to be of the minority that did have an issue with them and the terrible customer service. they sent me the wrong size bike, then charged me to return it even though it was their mistake, not mine. when I called them up to say, hey, you sent the wrong bike, the customer service guy told me it was a "great deal" and insisted that he knew better than I did what my bike size was ... although he had never seen me nor asked for measurements and in fact, I have the email string where we emailed back and forth regarding the bike pre-order - I definitely told him the right size, he just didn't send the size I wanted. the shipping is free, unless you return something, then you pay shipping both ways - so it cost me $180 for nadda despite the email string evidence. I would never buy from them again

so Mark out of interest have you found out what the freight to WA would be and will they ship to Oz?

Also don't forget that if the purchase is over A$1,000 they will slug you 10% duty and then 10% GST on top of the whole lot before you can pick it up. Sometimes you can find ways around this but sometimes not.

Well I said that I was not going to do it this season, but I cracked. I broke down and bought a new bike. I went out and bought a shiny new Cannondale road bike.
