Just registered for the IMFL for 2014! Looking for others from Iowa who plan to join in the "fun" on
November 1 of next year. Can't wait to hear from those of you that will be doing their FIRST IM and
those of you who have completed the IMFL in the past.

I have done several Olympic and sprint distances over the past 8 years and completed my first HIM
in Racine this past summer. I loved the 70.3 so figured I'd attempt to register for IMFL but knew I'd
"never get in online." Well, wouldn't you know it, I got in with no problems at all! I am excited, nervous,
scared, etc. You all know the feelings I am sure!

Mostly nervous about the swim portion. The distance seems reasonable but swimming with giant waves
hitting me in salt water intimidates me a bit more! Would love some insight, info, words of wisdom, etc.

Hoping some of us can meet-up the week of the race in Panama City as well! Happy training!

Midwest Tri Mom (3 beautiful girls ages 10, 7, & 3)
Three time 5150 Nationals Qualifier
Multiple podium age-group finishes in sprint and Olympic triathlons
5 time Marathon Finisher
Multiple Half Marathons over the past 12 years
70.3 HIM Finisher 2013

I'm planning it in 2015 but not this year. My cousin has done this one twice and liked it. It is the only 140.6 course he's done but he has done several 1/2 IM races. We are planning it together in 2015 so if he's in for a 3rd time it must be a good course! Good luck

That's awesome! Thanks for the info! I am looking forward to it. Good luck to you in 2015 and in this year with racing!

I got a new pair of the same size / brand of shoes and started running on them. On my left foot, the toe next to the big toe starts to get a little painful and goes numb after the first 1-3 miles.

At one of my last swim sessions the week of my first Ironman, one of my training partners told me how she was envious..."your first Ironman is fun, you have no pressure and no expectations!"
