Run
Comments: On the way out we had a decent headwind so for the first 3 or so miles I tried to just run directly behind someone whose pace was close to what I wanted to run. I felt really good and opened it up a bit once we hit the turnaround and had a tailwind. I hit the 10K mark faster than I've ever ran a 10K so I'm excited for my chance at a PR in a few weeks at the Turkey Day race. I felt a little off once I stopped for some water about 1.5 mi from the finish but I hung in there and finished strong. What would you do differently?: I think I might have had a little more pep at the end with a gel at the halfway point. But overall I set a 6 minute PR and hit the podium so it was a good day. Post race
Warm down: Apple donuts. As many as I could carry. What limited your ability to perform faster: I probably could have gone out a little faster. Event comments: Free with a running club membership. Apple Donuts. Twizzlers. Win. Last updated: 2013-11-10 12:00 AM

I enjoyed the 10AM start time. Usually I'm out running at 6AM on Saturday mornings but the race let me sleep in.
I did about 1.5 miles before the race. I was feeling a little lethargic so I took a Gel pack right before the race started as opposed to halfway through the race (which had been the plan).
