Swedish goggles leak less!

 1660    |  Subject: Swedish goggles leak less!Just tried Swedish goggles on a whim and found to my complete surprise that they leak a lot less (they don't leak at all) than my regular (gasket) goggles! I think the Swedes work better for me, as my nosepiece is narrower than most, and I was able to get a tailor-perfect fit with the Swedes (took me nearly 20 minutes to get the string the right length.) |

All real swimmers use Swedes! They don't leak because they eye socket(bone) and there is very little flesh/meat moving around under the seal like larger goggles. Don't bother with the string nose piece, just cut a small section of the band and use it for a nose piece. This is quick and easy to adjust. I also tried some of the copy from other manufactures recently and they just were not as good. The swedes have been around since at least the mid 80's unchanged, I don't know when they started but I thinks they put the time into the design to get them right a long time ago. AT $2.50 a piece I just order a dozen at a time(shipping is about $5). |

I've tried both, but I might be up for trying again. The price is sooooo appealing. Well, and the cool kid factor;) The string thingy is beyond me though. Ain't nobody got time for that. I'll give the stretchy nose piece approach another go. Actually, my freakin main motivator is that now I have two little swimmers who are constantly forgetting/breaking their goggles at swim team, and I think I need to start buying them by the case :/ |

I have features that tend to fit kid's goggle, sunglasses, etc better, so maybe that's part of the deal. Congratulations on being in the "in crowd" :) |

| 34 | Subject: RE: Swedish goggles leak less! Been using Swedes for years. I think the problem with most first timers is that they try to tie the string to an exact fit. I know, because I used to do this when I first started using them. The trick is to tie the string loose and then twist the eye cups to tighten up the string until you get the right fit. Works every time, and shouldn't take more than 10 mins to put a pair together. |
