Will you be posting a pre-built training plan for the series?

Maybe being local you can shed more light to why they choose to only ride in the foothills then utilize the terrain they have in the area? And where are they having the run on such a narrow bike path? Curious to know

I would suggest contacting the RD. He may have some answers for you.

I'll email Dave as I am just curious. Other RD's didn't seem to have the same problem collecting permits in the more mountainous areas.

Any word if the whole course should be repaired in August after the flooding?

I too was a little shocked they didn't keep the ride closer to the foothills. Can be very windy and hot east of I-25.

As far as having the run on the bike path is concerned - I wasn't going to sign up if they ran around the reservoir. Seems like it's always 10-15 degrees hotter on those trails - especially in August. I want no part of that. I would rather it be on a trail that offers some shade even if it's crowded. The finish on Pearl Street should be a lot of fun.

Now, for the last 20 years I’ve always though that jogging seemed about as interesting as watching paint dry, and you know what? That’s how it turned out to be.

I’m a 240lb man, and I run relatively long distances. How would you recommend training for marathon and IM distances as heavy as I am?

It makes no sense to train hard for a year to hone that aerobic system only to have all that training undermined by a few anaerobic bursts on race day. So, how do you go about it?

Byrn won’t hold your hand through the long hours and miles required finishing or for success in an IM, he can only show you how to get there. The work is up to you.
