Do most people now just get the digital downloads on their tablets/phones now? Which are you using- tablets or phones, or DVDs?
I was looking to use something like these vids during offseason on the trainer. Any suggestions for specific vids appreciated. I know this has been discussed before, sorry. As background and goals, I have done a 2:50 HIM bike split and would be training for that distance again in the new year (as well as shorter distances etc). I have much room for improvement.

I download them to my laptop and use them with trainer road. I think the combination of TR and the Sufferfest is awesome and don't think I would benefit *as much* from just doing the video alone. However I can see it being a workable option.

I've just used the downloads to a laptop and brought that over to the TV. Have put some on the phone before when riding away from home with no issues.

I download it in conjunction with trainneroad as well. I need to upgrade my computer because the video is kind of jerky on me. I've tried to scale it down but same results. The old computer needs to go anyway.

I've used the Sufferfest videos before with HR, and I can say that it does not compare to using it with TR.  It's definitely a superior option.

I use my laptop for download & playback. Prop it up in front of me w/ some headphones, and then destory myself.

And yes ,The 'Fest + Trainer Road = Wonderful, suffering workouts. Awesome!

Like almost everyone else has said - I watch them on a laptop. I have an old laptop that used to belong to my son - it's too old to be much use for anything else but it works fine for playing video files. And I don't care if I get sweat all over it. I keep a copy of each file on computer and a copy on a flash drive.

Sufferfest doesn't sell DVDs - MP4 download is the only way that they sell their videos.

I don't use Trainer Road and still get a pretty good workout. I use a speedometer on my training bike to keep myself honest - I want a 9 at the end of the workout to be the same speed as a 9 earlier in the workout. After hearing all of the recommendations for the Sufferfest / TR combination, this is something that I want to look into.

I'll echo everyone else's comment - try Trainer Road w/Sufferfest vids... if you don't like it, TR will refund your money during the first month of your subscription - or just go month-to-month and cancel when you want. If the playback is poor on your hardware you can try running the vid in a separate player (like the free VLC player) and then just start the workout in TR and hit play on the VLC player at the same time. I tend to gravitate to these vids the most:

- Blender
- Hell Hath No Fury
- Revolver

I just got ISLAGIAT ... haven't had a chance to try it yet - but the profile looks BRUTAL.

My husband does something above my head tech-wise and downloads them to his computer then transfers them to the TiVo in the "pain cave", so I watch them on the big screen in there. They stay recorded in my "my shows" portion of the TiVo so I can watch any of them, any time.

If anyone's interested, I can ask him exactly how he makes that work.

My favorite videos are:
- There Is No Try
- Angels
- A Very Dark Place

Oh that's a good one for size and working at a good intensity.

i stream sufferfest from laptop to big screen and also use tr. favorites have be be angels, hhnf, wretched, long scream. you first have to know your ftp (if you dont they tell you how to figure it out). have an ant+ stick. and cadence/speed sensor. then if you want, first subscribe to tr, they have all the video workouts there, no video just work out. then see how hard they are. but you will want the videos. makes the time on the trainer so much more suffering.

Strava has added 3 free Sufferfest videos for premium members. (Fight Club, Revolver and Rubber Glove). They are only available on the Android and iOS apps.

Has anyone found a way to use these with TrainerRoad? I tried recording them with Reflector, but it won't make it through a 45 minute video without crashing. Maybe I should just set up the iPad beside my laptop and do one of the FreeRide workouts on TrainerRoad?
