5 minute warm-up, dynamic stretches.

Comments:

Started off a little fast but it felt like an easy jog. I worked on slowing down to my goal pace and the 3:30 pace group caught up to me. I ran with them up until mile 20 where I picked up the pace and started to reel in a lot of the people who passed me at the start. By mile 24 both calves started to cramp up but slowing the pace a little and taking some EFS liquid shot helped relieve it quickly. At the mile 26 mark two guys who I ran with in the pace group caught up to me and they were racing to the finish. Hell NO, I was not letting two guys I passed, pass me this close and I sprinted with them to the finish. We all crossed about the same time (oh yeah, they were both mid to early 20's :-), don't mess with us old guys!).
What would you do differently?:

Not much if anything. I negative split the second half of the course (1:44:38 first half, 1:43:08 2nd half), I executed the race plan almost to perfection.
Post race
Warm down:

the long walk back to the car

What limited your ability to perform faster:

nothing.

Event comments:

overall great race.

I signed up for Ironman Frankfurt, next year July - and I am very excited about it. I originally planned to run my first Marathon in the middle of September, but am not sure if this is wise.
