Just want to send Thoughts, Good Wishes and Positive Vibes to ALL effected by the horrible storms across the midwest.  My family lives in Illinois and I have a younger brother who is a Deputy Sheriff in one of the worst hit areas.  All are safe and well, but they've never seen anything like it.

You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Lisa's family lives there... I haven't checked the maps to see where they are relative to where the storms hit... We're headed out there next week.

It's pretty bad far south (down near Peoria).

My folks live just south of I-80 in the suburbs, and the tornado touched down in their town (Frankfort). Thank God the tornado stayed far south of the population center, but the pictures of the storm are simply incredible. Had this thing been 5 miles north it would have likely meant a significant loss of life due to the density of population.

I chuckle because you label Peoria area as "far south".

However, I found out my hometown had lost power yesterday night and some downed branches/trees in Champaign-Urbana. Mom who lives further North (near I-55 and I-80 intersection) hasn't mentioned anything other than her granddaughter and the trip this weekend...so I assume that means there is no issue for her.

LOL- "far south" to me usually means anything south of I-80. Anything beyond that is a place we call "Illinoy".

I live in Peoria and there are some areas that were relatively untouched and others that were absolutely obliterated!
